The Author - The Oagenn: Turning the Tide

Paul Sasser is a vascular surgeon and the author of the debut novel, The Ốẚḡenn: Turning the Tide. Drawing on his background in biology and a deep fascination with 19th-century maritime history, his writing explores the intricate mechanics of wooden sailing vessels and the rich lore of the South Carolina Lowcountry. When he is not practicing medicine at Conway Medical Center or researching John Alden schooner designs, Paul can be found fly fishing for redfish, tending to his apiaries, or developing Ransom Bluff Farm along the banks of the Waccamaw River.
